What is acupuncture?

Acupuncture is a safe and virtually painless method of naturally balancing the body to heal itself. By stimulating specific acupuncture points, we can lower blood pressure, stimulate the immune system, regulate and elevate the mood, and address multiple acute and chronic pain disorders.

What are the benefits?

Acupuncture has been proven to be effective in treating acute and chronic pain, migraines, nausea, low back pain, depression and anxiety, and much more. By regulating the production and reuptake of serotonin, dopamine, and endorphins, we can encourage the body to heal itself naturally not just once, but always.

How it works.

We start with a conversation. Catherine will conduct a thorough assessment to understand your needs and goals and will answer all the questions you may have.  An infrared heat lamp as well as essential oils are used to make you feel warm and relaxed and to allow you time to get comfortable. Your personalized treatment begins. Up to 15 single use sterilized needles will be placed in various points around the body to treat your condition and help you heal as fast as you are able. Needles are typically retained for 30 minutes and Catherine checks at regular intervals depending on your preference, though established patients typically rest for the entire 30 minutes without interruption.

Needles are then removed and the future of the treatment plan is discussed. Depending on your schedule and your needs, treatments can be weekly, biweekly, or monthly. While you may experience some immediate symptoms relief usually the acupuncture treatment is a process. After leaving the office, it is important to treat yourself well in order to give your body the best healing chance. Sleep early, eat healthy and delicious things, avoid stressful triggers, and be confident in your choice to heal in a natural and lasting way.
